The real tradition of italian rice.

Located in the heart of the most important italian and european rice area, the Riso Testa farm produces rice in an ancient farmstead, The Grampa, already mentioned in old archival documents of the XVI century.

Riso Testa operate according to conscious agriculture standards, that is it uses the same practice of conventional agriculture with a particular interest to the rational use of phytosanitary and fertilizer products and paying attention to the energy and water resources.

The RISO TESTA farm follows very carefully the whole production cycle of rice from soil preparation to field sewing, from cultivation to drying and storage in silos as far as the final product conservation.

Only the process of “pilatura”and packaging are entrusted to small local firms though under the strict control of Riso Testa especially during the processing phases to grant the best quality.

Conscious agriculture means that the producer:

  • Has to program the field operations according to whether forecast in order to evoid waste of water.

  • Has to use integrated agriculture

  • Has to apply precision technics as automatic satellite guide and electronic control for the correct use of phytosanitary and fertilizer

  • Has to reduce the polluting emissions controlling the the cultural operations.

  • Has to reduce the water consume using leveling and laser control of the ground.

  • Has to reduce the need of thermal and electric energy of the drying plant relying on correct sewing times.
